As part of the informal Architecture Education at the Bells University of Technology, Ota, the Postgraduate (MSc) Programme in Architecture organised a one-day study tour of Lagos – Nigeria’s economic, financial and industrial capital.

The trip was planned to strengthen our conventional teaching and Studio learning with the building construction industry’s best practices from leading service and solution providers.

Setting out very early on Wednesday 16th April, 2015, our team arrived early at the premises of NIGERITE LIMITED for our 9:00am appointment. We were ushered into the NIGERITE Training Facilities where we were presented with the latest, time-saving and cost-effective ‘Dry Construction’ building technique.

The trainers did everything to convey the appropriateness of the Dry Construction method as the viable option for most building and shelter construction practices.

In the course of our interactive session, questions were entertained and satisfactory explanations offered by the NIGERITE LIMITED’s Training Experts.

We were later conducted to the display and demonstration sites of the Dry Construction NIGERITE Building Solution. This was planned to show the practicality of the Dry Construction building technique.

The NIGERITE Tour was rounded up with each participant being given a souvenir pack alongside a tasty lunch pack and soft drink.

The authorities of Bells University of Technology and especially the visiting Graduate (Masters) Students of Architecture would like to thank NIGERITE LIMITED, Lagos for the excellent training programme and hospitality provided during the visit.

We are particularly grateful to Engineer Wale Ogungbe – The Dry Construction Manager at NIGERITE LIMITED, Arc Osawe Abu, Mr Lanre Ashaolu, Mr Victor Jolaosho, the entire Management and Staff of NIGERITE LIMITED, Lagos for making our Study Tour an exciting learning opportunity.

We look forward to strengthening the relationship between Bells University of Technology, Ota and NIGERITE LIMITED, Lagos through collaborative research and development for the benefit of the country and the people.

The touring students later visited the Main Campus of the University of Lagos at Akoka, Yaba, before returning to the Main Campus of Bells University of Technology at Ota – at about 5:30pm…
