Ms Taiye Oladoyin ALAGBE |
ALAGBE, Taiye Oladoyin is a Lecturer with the Department of Architecture, Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun state. She studied Architecture at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria from where she excelled and obtained her Masters and Bachelors degree in Architecture. She is currently an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Architecture, a full member of the Female Architects of Nigeria, The National Association of Women in Academics and the Canadian Association of Business Administrators.
She started her Architecture career with Callicrates Nig. Ltd as an Architect where she developed the interest for knowledge transfer through Architecture. She has worked with international organisations such as the Department for International Development (DfID) to provide architectural solutions through the development of educational facilities for primary and secondary schools.
Some key aspects of her research interest include; the utilization of design components for sustainable Architecture. These include ventilation and building materials for developing energy efficient design solutions. The applications of these and related areas include a comparative study of the cement and earth bricks in the construction industry. Mrs. Alagbe pursues her own areas of research and develops these in order to contribute to the wider research activities of the department/institution. She aims to have her research published, either in the form of a book or scholarly article. The idea is to raise the profile of further education in Nigeria.
She currently lectures in the Department of Architecture, College of Environmental Sciences at the Bells University of Technology, Ota. Currently, she lectures the following courses – Interior Design (Arc 320: 2 Credit Units), Architectural Design Studio (Arch 202: 4 Credit Units) and Visual and Descriptive Communication (Arch 102: 2 Credit units)
Mrs. Alagbe facilitates learning by teaching academic subjects to undergraduate students; carrying out research activities in the University and contributing to the overall quality of the educational process as a whole. She is responsible for developing and delivering teaching forms such as workshops, seminars and other teaching methods including lectures, tutorials, practical skills demonstrations, field work and e-learning to university students in an environment where multimedia technologies are increasingly used.
Mrs. Alagbe enjoys travelling, meeting people and reading.
