Afolabi OLADELE |
Afolabi Oladele has been an academic staff of the Department since 2011. He has lectured variously in History of Architecture and Design Studio at the Undergraduate Programme of Architecture. He has also been involved in taking courses in Project Planning and Control, Building Contracts and Administration, Urban Design Principles, Building Structures and Form, as well as supervising Bachelors' Degree (BSc) Dissertation Projects.
Afolabi is currently on the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Architecture at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. His research interests include Housing and Urban Design with emphasis on the Socio-Cultural and Ideological Aspects of Transit Housing for Natural Disaster Victims and Long Term Resettlement Schemes/Programmes. This is with the backdrop of recent trends in the global climatic scene but within the context of developing nations. The application of appropriate and contemporary construction technology in setting up of such schemes is a secondary point of emphasis.
Registered provisionally with the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and just recently passed the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) Finals II (Special) Examinations, he has two publications and has practised Architecture in the South-Western Nigeria for over ten years. He is married with children.
